Our story
After a successful career in the media (Patrick) and in pastry-making (Laurence), we finally decided in 2014 to settle in the Vaucluse, to start a new adventure born of love at first sight and meetings, obviously.
A love at first sight, for a region and people, but also for an 18th century ‘Mas Provencal’ surrounded by beautiful vineyards, located at the foot of the southern slope of Mont Ventoux. This was the trigger for a project that had been maturing in Patrick’s mind for twenty years. Two well-developed projects failed to see the light of day in the 1990s…
By creating domaine Dambrun, our aim was to ensure the continuity of the family tradition with the Ott cousins, famous winemakers in Bandol, and the grandfather, Poulterer in Lyon. « You can’t escape your past » as they say…
Some of our neighbouring winemakers have already greatly contributed to giving the Ventoux appellation the letters of nobility that it was slow to gain but which it richly deserves. Convinced that the terroirs and the weather of this region deserve an even more attentive look from true wine lovers: we place ourselves resolutely in this line.
Our philosophy
Even if we take great care in choosing our vats, even if we aim to find the perfect balance between the energies drawn from wood, cement or stainless steel…
Even if we vinify and mature in small volumes and work meticulously on our grape variety blends…
Even if we favour gravitational movements, notably at the time of bottling…
Even if we choose the noblest and most natural products, from the bottle to the cork…
Even if we are proud of the large wine cellar inaugurated in 2016 in the estate…
We are convinced that it is what the vines want to give us in exchange for the respectful work we do that makes Domaine Dambrun. Our ambition is to succeed, with diligence and humility, in sublimating the expression of our beautiful terroir.
At the beginning of the adventure, our friend Jérôme Bressy, guided us for 2 years and helped us to build this philosophy turned towards respect for nature: our wines are organic certified and we strictly follow the rules of biodynamic farming for every intervention in the vines or the wine cellar.
« There are no good or bad wines. There are honest wines, and the others. » Jean Carmet. It summarises our philosophy, we aim to be part of the first category, and to share our pleasure and passion with you.
Our domaine
The vineyards of Domaine Dambrun are located in four communes: Caromb, Modène, Mazan and Bédoin. The terroirs present a rich diversity with a majority of limestone clay and loamy sand soils, ranging from 100m to 450m high. Our terroir benefits from an exceptional biodiversity as it has been beautifully preserved. The Mont Ventoux is a natural site classified as a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco.
With an average age of 45 years, our 13 hectares of vines contribute to the complexity and the fine aromatic profile of our wines. The Ventoux’s climate favours voluptuous, balanced and elegant wines. Our vines benefit from the unique sunlight of the “Mont Ventoux”. The famous “Mistral” wind is a wonderful ally to dry the rare rains that refresh our vines and ensure optimal conditions to our land.
We do not use any chemical products and favour manual intervention. We harvest in small baskets and crates before sorting at the time of picking and in the cellar. Natural fermentation takes place in truncated wooden vats, before maturing in concrete and stainless steel vats, then in 25 hl wooden tuns and 6 hl demi-muids.
The wine is bottled on the estate, without fining and we use corks made of cork flower.

IGP VAUCLUSE
DAMBRUN BLANC
Our Chardonnays that flirt with the traditional grape varieties of our region. A very successful marriage of love.
Domaine Dambrun offers red wines under the Ventoux appellation. Our whites are IGP Vaucluse in order to enhance them with our superb Chardonnays.
Domaine Dambrun Red is the result of a blend of five very complementary grape varieties.
We play with the softness of Grenache, the rusticity of Carignan, the aromas of Syrah, the fruitiness of Cinsault and the finesse of Counoise. Our vines have an average age of 50 years.
Our wines are highly appreciated by the most renowned guides. Previously rated 15 out of 20 in the prestigious Bettane et Desseauve, our reds have reached a new level with the 2016 Dame Brune rated 16 out of 20!
Our whites are mainly made from Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc and Viognier but we planted Roussanne and Marsanne in 2017. They are gradually being integrated into our blends. Find out more details about our wines in technical sheets above.
But better than a description, it is a tasting in an atmosphere of friendship and conviviality that will allow you to appreciate the fruit of our work…
